Hi There! I’m Abel V. Riojas.
A commercial photographer specializing in branding and editorial-style imagery for businesses and organizations in McAllen and across the Rio Grande Valley.
I’ve been shooting professionally since 1993. I started as a videographer with McAllen ISD, then moved into broadcast news at KGBT in Harlingen in 1997. That early work shaped how I still operate today: plan ahead, work efficiently, and deliver consistent results without unnecessary production or guesswork.
Today, I work primarily with commercial clients who need photography that looks professional, intentional, and believable — not trendy, not over-edited, and not generic.
My clients include the City of McAllen, Lone Star National Bank, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, Mission Chamber of Commerce, the City of San Benito, South Texas Health System, Texas Oncology, and other commercial organizations. I’ve also worked on national and regional projects for Simon Properties, Anderson Bean Boots, Harley-Davidson, Hermes Music, Emerson Electronics, Daiso, and with the team involved in opening the first Primark store in Texas.
Most of my work focuses on people — leadership portraits, staff and team photos, and on-location branding imagery. I work on location and bring professional lighting and backgrounds directly to my clients. That flexibility keeps things efficient and allows teams to be photographed in a familiar environment without sacrificing quality.
I give clear direction throughout the shoot, especially for people who aren’t comfortable in front of a camera. Sessions are structured, relaxed, and purposeful. We don’t show up and “see what happens.” Everything is planned so the final images actually serve your business.
I’m bilingual (English and Spanish spoken), and I work closely with marketing teams, city departments, healthcare organizations, and business owners who value preparation, consistency, and professionalism.
