Meet – Temple Emanuel in #McAllen

Recently I had the chance to work with him and an interfaith clergy at the Catholic Charities Humanitarian Respite Center here in the #rgv. He and several other leaders came to visit the families separated at the border and try to show them that they’re loved and welcomed here in the United States.

Star Wars Memorial Day Weekend 5K Fun

McAllen Portrait Photographer

Well the Memorial Day Weekend is off to a good start. We spent the morning volunteering at the Mission Texas Solo 5k Run. It was a small group (i helped with photos) and as always it was for a good cause. The proceeds will be given to #RGV students scholarships!

My family and I have been enjoying volunteering with the Star Wars 501st and we’ve made a lot of great friends along the way. I’ll be honest I was BEHIND the camera this time my wife and my sister-in-law were fully suited up and made a lot of kids (young and old) smile as they came out for photos.

South Texas Health System Week

McAllen Commercial PhotographySpending the afternoon trying to catch up on some commercial photography. We’ve had a pretty busy week with a few ground breakings and ribbon cuttings here in the Rio Grande Valley. This week we’ve had the opportunity to work with South Texas Health System on several of their projects including #EMSWeek and their new partnership with Buy Buy Baby. Keep up the great work guys!

Former McAllen Mayor – Richard Cortez

Spent weds evening at the first annual Empresarios RGV event here in McAllen . It was interesting to hear former Mayor Richard Cortez’s vision for the Rio Grande Valley … he hit on some of the harder issues facing our area (why Hidalgo county has one of the highest tax rates in all of Texas). As always I walked away some new information and had a chance to catch up with friends. Thank you IBC Bank for hosting a great event!

Ribbon Cutting State Farm

What a day! We spent the morning working with great small business that’s on top of their social media game, we’ll be collaborating on projects here in the RGV in the next few months.  It’s crazy just how much online video has changed the social media game…even more the entire scope of marketing.

The afternoon we switched gears as we had a chance to work with State farm here in McAllen.  We helped take photos at Leo Rodriguez’s offices as the team and customers came together to celebrate 40 years in serving the people of the Rio Grande Valley.  He had a full house and even other agents (that weren’t State Farm) stop by and congratulate him and the team.

My family and I have been customers for years and I grew up with his kids.  Working with him this afternoon you could see that he really does love his job and customer service is what has powered his organization since day one.  Congrats to you and your team Leo!

B.E. F.A.S.T. Beat Stroke 5k Run

Everyone has a favorite photo from event, this was mine from Saturday’s . First it poured rain this weekend when it wasn’t supposed to…but what can you do that’s Texas weather. Anyways after getting a nice downpour for about an hour (and right in the middle of the 5K) people started coming in with smiles on their faces.

I have a ton of respect to anyone that enjoys running. About the only thing that I run after now at days is the ice cream truck and that’s not saying much.

Something else, from the looks of things all of my Sony gear survived without any trouble. I’d be lying to you if I wasn’t worried. Normally I bring some sort of rain gear but this was the ONE time i forgot it and the truck was parked FAR FAR AWAY.

Commercial Videography – Valley Nature Center

McAllen Commercial Photography Valley Nature Center

Fun highlight of the week so far?  having a chance to head on out to the Valley Nature Center in the City of Welsaco.  They always have something going on and this time we’re working on a “How To Video” for teachers and students visiting for the first time.  It’s the kinda place that I would have loved to had a chance to visit as a kid.

Our boys have asked about going back as they’ve been part of the summer camps over the last few years.    If your ever in the area you should think about stopping in…it’s right in the middle of the city so you don’t have to venture off too far.

Senior Portrait – Saturday Night

McAllen Senior Portraits

What are you doing saturday night?  Me?  I was going to take the night off and just catch up on rest…but we had an awesome senior portrait  session this morning and couldn’t wait to look at them.

Once again we headed out to Hidalgo Pump house and took in a nice cool morning here in the #rgv.  The light was touch and go with the sun popping in and out but the Profoto B1s helped light the scene.

We’re still scheduling in to May for last minute sessions so don’t wait until the heat has REALLY come back.  I kinda feel like we’re on borrowed spring time here.  While a lot of the country has been wrapped up in cool weather, we’ve enjoyed a break from the heat.  No complaints here.  So drop us a line, you can reach us monday though friday at 956-624-4042 or just send us a quick shout out on our contact page.

Commercial Photography – McAllen La Plaza Mall April 2018

Ever have one of those days where you’re just trying to catch up with everything?  That would be me.  We were asked back to help reshoot some of the new interiors of McAllen’s La Plaza Mall and they’re still adding more to it.  They weren’t able to say TOO much but they’re going to have a big announcement for local entertainment in the near future, as always I’m looking forward to it.

If you haven’t made the time to stop on by they have added more the north part of the mall and they’re expecting more stores and restaurants to open in the near future.
